Bachorz, Andrew J. Jr., "Shorty", 76, Windber, passed away April 13, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center. Born June 23, 1947 in Windber, son of the late Andrew J. Bachorz Sr. and Helen (Kosco). Preceded in death by brother, John A. Bachorz; sister, Mary Ann Zarnesky; and by brother-in-law, Jeff Smith. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Annie T. (Palus) Bachorz, Windber; son, Brian Bachorz married to Danielle, Woodbury, NJ; daughter, Michelle married to Brett Shuster, Johnstown; grandchildren, Hailee, Preslee, SyeRaven, Drake and his fiancée, Megan, Tailer, and Ashlee; brothers, Tom Bachorz and companion, Karen; Rich Bachorz married to Chris (Bartolomucci); sisters, Gloria married to Joseph Cominsky; and Diane Smith, all of Windber; aunts, Helen Borcas; and Francis "Nanny" Servacek; sisters-in-law, Maria married to Dan Lawhead; Olga Curlej, all of Windber; and by Helena married to Paul Medvedz, NJ; life-long friends, Iggie married to Bones Tallyen; John Ostrosky married to Linda; Kim married to Mark Matthews; John Stevens married to Margaret Ann; and John Smihal; also by numerous nieces and nephews. Andy was a faithful Catholic, life member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Windber. Andy worked at Penn Metal and as a Rigger at Bethlehem Steel till they closed. He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Windber Slovak Club. Andy was the owner of the former Imperial Lanes (duck pins) and part owner of the Bunker Inn. He loved music, playing in a band called "Joy Loaders" in the 1960's where he met his wife, Annie. Andrew was a loving husband, dad and grandfather who loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed going to the Casino's, and one of the highlights of his life was surprising his son performing at the "Peppers" at King of Prussia. The Bachorz family wishes to thank all of the great Doctor's and Nurses who have helped him through the years and those who were with him when he passed at Conemaugh Hospital for their outstanding care of Andy. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 16th from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home of Windber, where vigil service will be held. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17th at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, Fr. Larry. Private committal at church cemetery. www.meekfuneralhome.com
