Thomas A. Kotch, III

Thomas A. Kotch, III, 39, NC, formerly of Richland Twp., died Aug. 18, 2017 in NC. Born July 27, 1978 in Windber son of Thomas A. Jr., and Claudia (Weaver) Kotch. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, Indian Lake, sister Jessica, wife of Michael Fiedorowicz, nieces Ilona and Claudia, wife former Jennifer Podratsky, her daughter Laura Heinrichs, and their daughter Emma. 

Tom did many amazing things during his life and lived in many places.  He drove across the country multiple times (wondering why anyone would live in Kansas), living in Los Angeles, CA, Atlanta, GA, and North Carolina.  When living in L.A., he rode his bicycle along the coast, camped under the Sequoias, hiked Topango Canyon and took the opportunity to hike at Arches National Park.  He loved the Taco Truck and Korean Barbecue with friends.  He bought his Harley in pieces, assembling it by watching instructional videos on YouTube!  Riding it on the weekends, he traveled the coastal highway and rode through the desert.  While living in Atlanta, he once rode back to Johnstown and surprised his family who knew nothing of his Harley.  His move to Richland allowed him to spend time with family, especially his dying father.  They were able to watch baseball and hockey while his father was in hospice, a comfort to them both.  His move to North Carolina brought the greatest joy in his life, Emma.  He reveled in everything she did and was looking forward to every new milestone.  His sense of humor and generosity will be sorely missed.  Tom was a very special person and was loved deeply by his friends and family.   Graduate of Richland High School and Penn College of Technology.
