Susan Theresa (Knipple) Pipon

Susan Theresa (Knipple) Pipon, 50, of Windber, PA, passed away on April 24, 2017, at Windber Hospice after a long, courageous battle with cancer for the second time. Born November 18, 1966 in Johnstown, PA, Susan grew up in Geistown. She is survived by husband, Joseph (50), whom she married August 31, 1991 in Windber, and sons, Joseph Jr. (23) and Steven (21). Susan is also survived by her parents, Robert and Mary Ann (Miklaucic) Knipple, of Geistown; brother, Kevin Knipple and wife, Marcia (Mock), of Ashburn, VA: sisters, Karen Bender and husband, William, of Geistown, Melissa Washinger and husband, Robert, of Culpepper, VA; parents-in-law, George and Elizabeth (Updegraff) Pipon, of Windber, PA; brother-in-law, George Pipon Jr., and wife, Janice (Gindlesperger), of Windber, PA; nieces/nephews: Jacquelyn, Jessica, Victoria, Miranda, Ashley, Michael, Addison, and great-nephew, Jaxton. Also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Susan received an associates degree from Cambria-Rowe Business College and her bachelors degree from Mount Aloysius College. She spent 31 years of her life as an administrative assistant at Penn Machine Company in Ferndale. Susan was a longtime member of the Women of the Moose, Windber Chapter 2064, where she volunteered many hours for the annual Moose picnic as well as various fundraising events. She also volunteered many hours for the Windber Area High School Booster program. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 pm Friday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Windber. Fr. Rod Soha, Pastor. Committal All Faiths Chapel and Mausoleum, Windber. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice or the Church of the Brethren Home, Windber.
