Stephen M. Troyan

TROYAN – Stephen Michael, 65, Mine 37, died April 25 2015, at home surrounded by his family. Born Dec. 29, 1949, in Johnstown, son of the late Stephen L. and Mary F. (Jarosik) Troyan. Preceded in death by sister, Valerie “Sis” Troyan. Survived by loving wife of 25 years, Viola Jo (Ference) Troyan; brother, Francis R., married to former Patricia Wiecek, Johnstown; daughter, Stephanie, married to Andrew Milavec, Central City; son, Michael, Attleboro, Mass; stepdaughter, Amy (Vizi), married to Scott Rummel, Windber; and stepson, Michael Vizi, Windber. Also the light of his life, his four grandchildren, Kylie Rummel, Logan Rummel, A. Cole Milavec and Vincent Milavec; in-laws, Harold “Red” and Charlotte Null, Georgette Rosebury, Joseph and Lois Ference and Randal and Margaret Swinger; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1967 graduate of Ferndale Area High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Longtime employee of U.S. Steel Co., and a retired shift foreman at Cerro Metals, Bellefonte. Former member of Moxham PNA, where he was an avid softball player and bowler. He bowled a 300 game in 1982, and is in the Bowling Hall of Fame in St. Louis, Mo. Past member of Windber American Legion. Enthusiastic fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and a lifelong angler. He enjoyed tying his own flies and loved to fish with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a former member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Moxham. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev.
