Ruth E. Dayton

Dayton-Burns, Ruth E., 88, Johnstown, formerly of Windber died July 4, 2017 at Conemaugh Hospice. Born July 12, 1928 in Windber daughter of the late Eugene and  Gladys Douglass.  Also preceded in death by first husband Raymond Burns, second husband Harry Dayton, sons Charles “Chuck” and Thomas Burns, and brother Clyde Douglass. Survived by these grandchildren: Thomas J. Burns and wife Michelle, and Jennifer, wife of John Goldberg, both of Johnstown. Also survived by great grandchildren Harry Beppler, III, Vincent Beppler, Joshua Burns, and Jonathan Goldberg, and great, great grandchildren Ethan and Maddison Beppler. Sister-in-law to Paul Dayton, and Elizabeth Thomas, both of Windber, & Jeanine Douglass, TN. Ruth was a graduate of former Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was an RN for 38 years at Windber Hospital. Member of Berkey Church of the Brethren, T.O.P.S., and Red Hat Ladies. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary UMC, Windber.  Pastor Heidi Helsel will officiate.
