Ronald E. Dayton

Dayton, Ronald E., 66, Windber, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 12, 2016 unexpectedly at home in the arms of his loving wife. Born Apr. 6, 1950 in Bedford. Son of Clarance and Delores (Felton) Dayton. Preceded in death by parents and sister Patty Ann. Survived by loving wife of 32 years Sandra (Mapes), and children Rebecca, Ron, Amanda, Yulissa, and Jessie. Step-children Karen and Colleen, 13 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Loving brother of Vi, Butch, Donna, Chris, Annie and Jimmy and also numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was a graduate of Windber Area High School, class of 1970. He was employed as a welder for 35 years and was a fantastic mechanic. Ron loved hunting, fishing, watching football and Nascar races. His greatest love was being with his family whom he loved more than life itself. Ron was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and brother and most of all a friend to those he met. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. Family and friends are invited to his homecoming from 11 am until time of service at 12 noon, Thursday, Oct. 20 at the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship. Pastor Jim Gay, officiating.
