Mrs Olga (Buday) Popp, age 96, Windber went home to be with her Lord on June 12, 2015 at the Church of the Brethren Home where she had been a resident for several years. She was born on March 19, 1919 in Windber daughter of the now late Nicholas and Lena (Simon) Buday. She was also preceded in death by her husband Louis who died in 1996, and brothers Paul and John Buday.
She is survived by her loving daughters Shirley, wife of Glenn Thomas, Gainesville FL, and Linda, wife of Fred Manners, Pittsburgh. Loving grandmother to Glenn L. (Bettyjean) Thomas, Allison Park, PA, and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Manners, Pittsburgh. Also survived by great great grandchildren Garrett and Jacob Thomas.
Sister-in-law to Ethel Palumbo and Myrtle Popp, both of Windber. Olga was an active member of Rummel Church of the Brethren. Member of Anna Windolph Chp., OES, and the William Penn Association. She loved to cook and bake Hungarian dishes as well as entertaining her family and friends. Along with her husband Louis they enjoy travelling especially abroad.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Church of the Brethren Home for their excellent care they gave to their mother. She was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where a deacon's service will be held. Friends will also be received from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.Monday at the church. Pastor Ruby Mader will officiate. Interment Richland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rummel Church of the Brethen in memory of Olga.
