SCALLION – Mary (Dell'Arciprete), 96, got her wings April 6, 2015, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born Dec. 17, 1918, in Windber, daughter of the late Michael and Emma (Auriti) Dell’Arciprete. Also preceded in death by her husband, Berardino (William), in 1987; brothers, Garibaldi and Albert; and sisters, Anita DiGiulio, Delia D’Arcangelo, Gilda DeMarco and Ruby Klauber. Survived by sons, Ralph, married to the former Lynn McDowell, North Carolina; and Michael, married to the former Deborah Weaver, Windber; grandson, Christopher, married to Ashley Hibbard; and granddaughter, Megan; also numerous nieces and nephews. Mary loved to quilt, garden, can fresh fruits and vegetables, make her own clothing, knit and read. She graduated in 1936 from Windber High School and  was a longtime member of Windber Church of the Brethren. A special thank you for the great care and patience given to our mom (Mother M), from the nurses and caregivers on 2nd station, and the RN’s at Church of the Brethren Home. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, when a deacon service will be held, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, the Rev. Joe Brown, officiating. Interment, Berkey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation if you wish to Windber Church of the Brethren or Church of the Brethren Home, where Mary resided for nearly five years. (www.meekfuneralhome.com)
