Mary D. Benko

BENKO, MARY D.,97, born May 1,1919 in South Fork, PA, resided in Milwaukee, WI for the past 8 years, Mary crossed over 6/22 at 11:11 AM, escorted by her son Michael who passed away 15 years prior and was surrounded by a devoted daughter, Mary Ann,  and loving friends. She was the most incredible wife to Michael C. for 43 years and dedicated her life to being an unselfish, nurturing, kind and loving mother to her 2 children, 2 grandchildren, Amy O’Hara and Michael Benko and her 4 great grandchildren, Tyson, Quinn, Farris and Charlie. Mary brought light, laughter and love to every person she met. She was an incredibly talented seamstress, had the mind of an engineer and made the best totos (Italian cookie), requested by all. Her unconditional, unshakeable belief and love for God was matched by none. Her days consisted of prayer, rosaries and burning candles for anyone who needed help. She was gracious, appreciative and had a heart of 24 karat gold. Her contributions to the world were numerous but the relationship she shared with her daughter was created in heaven and her most cherished accomplishment. Their hearts will beat as one forever.  A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Friday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, Fr. Rod Soha, TOR, officiating.  Memorial gifts may be made to Zilber Hospice or St. Jude’s Church, both in Wauwatosa, WI.
