M. Irene (Claycomb) Westover

Westover, M. Irene, “Hammy”, 92, Ogletown died June 26, 2016 at Select Specialty, Johnstown.  Born July 4, 1923 in Claysburg daughter of the late William and Sadie (Brown) Claycomb.  Also precede in death by husband Ernest, daughter Phyllis Burkey, brothers Jesse, Bruce, Chester, Howard and Irvin Claycomb, and sisters Viola Wannyn, and Daisy Davis.

Survived by these children: Dianne, wife of Allen Lehman, Linda Schardt, Stanford, married to the former Kathy Muccioli, Ronald, married to the former Sally Weyandt, Elaine, wife of Ed Berardi, Bradley, married to tofrmer Cathy Whetstone, and Suzanne Helmick, all of Windber.  Also survived by 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and newphews.

Irene was an excellent cook and baker.  She enjoyed watching Family Feud and Price is Right.  In later years she worked at Eastern Elevator as an office assistant.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc., Windber where service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday.  The Rev. Richard Whetstone,
