John E. Sherlock

John E. Sherlock, "Jack", 91, Windber died May 29, 2017 at Windber Hospice. Born June 19, 1925 in St. Michael son of the late Regis and Irene (Hobart) Sherlock. Also preceded in death by wife former Pauline Packan, daughters Christine Maschue and Patricia Boburchuk, and brothers Hobart and Robert and Patrick Sherlock. Survived by sisters Catherine Esaias, Johnstown and Nancy Anderson, Pittsburgh. Survived by these children: Louise, wife of Lou Aust, Johnstown, Mary Susan, wife of Evert Van Raden, Ypsilanti, MI and John R., married to the former Sue McDermott, Alliquippa. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Father-in-law to Joseph Boburchuk, Windber. Brother-in-law to Florence McLeod, Hopewell, VA, Donna Sherlock, Uniontown, and Gerry Owczarzak, IL. Preceded in death by good friend Margaret Dalla Valle. Jack was a Navy veteran of WW II. Hobbies included playing pinochle, & watching Jeopardy. He was a lifelong Pirates fan. There will be no viewing or visitation. Member of St. John Cathedral, Johnstown where funeral Mass will celebrated at noon July 1, 2017. Fr. James Crookston. Committal St. Mary Byzantine Church Cemetery, Windber.
