James A. Thomas

Thomas, James A., 72, Alum Bank, formerly of Windber, passed away Oct. 13, 2016 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 24, 1944 in Ogletown. Son of Alton and Mae Catherine (Bertram) Thomas.  Preceded by parents, loving companion Mae Martin, daughter Pamela K. Thomas, and siblings Katherine Bowser, H. Alton, Jr., Clarence, and Cleo Rice.

Survived son James E., Alum Bank and grandchildren Lissa M. and Devin Thomas, Altoona. Sisters Violet Frawley, Elmira, NY and Joyce Faust, Alum Bank. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Army Veteran.  Jim retired from the maintenance dept. at Univ. of Pitt at Johnstown.  He was avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed tinkering with cars. Jim loved trains. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Monday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where funeral be held at 1 pm Tuesday. Interment Ogletown Cemetery.
