Gladys Louise McGregor

McGREGOR - Gladys Louise (Weaver), 90, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, at Laurel View Village, Davidsville. Born Sept. 16, 1924, in Scalp Level, daughter of Lewis H. and Nellie (Jones) Weaver. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen, in 1987; son, Dennis, in 2010; brothers, Robert and Gary; sister, Dorothy (Weaver) Edwards; brother-in-law, Gerald Hoffman; and sister-in-law, Fern (Baumgardner) Buese. Survived by daughter, Elaine, and her husband, Vincent Mucciola, Fort Washington, Pa.; sister, Betty (Weaver) Hoffman, Johnstown; brother, Donald, Laurel View Village; brother-in-law, Robert Edwards, Lebanon, Pa.; daughter-in-law, Debby (Nicholson) McGregor, Lumberton, Texas; granddaughter, Lisa (Mucciola), and husband, David Stasse, Newtown Square, Pa.; and granddaughter, Amanda McGregor, Prescott, Ariz.; also great-granddaughters, Lauren and Allison Stasse and Elizabeth and Sasha McGregor. Throughout her life, Gladys loved spending time on her family farm, Weaver Hillside Orchard. After raising her children, she held several different jobs, but none gave her greater pride than the years she spent working as a custodian at Windber High School and her years of volunteering at Laurel View Village after her move there in 2000. Gladys' family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of kind, caring, dedicated professionals at Laurel View Village. To honor Gladys' wishes, there will be no public viewing. Friends may call from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Sunday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, the Rev. Ronald St. Clair, officiating. Interment at Richland Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either Scalp Level Church of the Brethren or Laurel View Village Caring Fund.
