Gladys S. (McCreary) Blackburn

Mrs. Gladys S. Blackburn, age 96,  of Windber died Nov. 11, 2016 at Atrium Manor, Johnstown. Born June 16, 1920 in Johnstown daughter of the late Daniel S. and Laura Della (Miller) McCreary. Also preceded in death by husband John J., and siblings Merle, Earl, Clair, Mary Kathryn Gilbert, and an infant sister Janet. Survived by these daughters:Mary Lynn (Paul) Toth, Nanty Glo, Susan (David) Spenik, Johnstown, and Linda (David) Adamczyk, Windber. Grandmother to David (Patricia Simler) Adamczyk, Windber, and Patrick (Jennifer Appleman) Spenik, Pittsburgh. Also four great, great grandchildren. Gladys was the last member of her immediate family. Formerly an active member of Calvary UMC, Windber. Member of Rosie the Riveter Society. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc., Windber where service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday. The Rev William Warrick, officiating.
