Freda I. McKinney

McKINNEY – Freda I., 84, Windber, went to be with the Lord Aug. 28, 2015.  Born July 31, 1931, in Bedford County, daughter of the late Melvin L. and Julianna (Musselman) Harr. Also preceded in death by brother, Melvin; sister, Ida Jump; and infant sister, Lavada. Survived by children, Harry; Deborah, wife of Leo Koposko, both of Windber; and Kimberly McKinney, Slippery Rock. Grandmother of Erica Nemitz, wife of Josh, both of Charlotte, N.C.; Matthew Koposko, Windber; and Kelsey Walker and Bill McKool, Davidsville. Also survived by Kelsey’s father, Biff Walker, Morgantown, W.Va. Great-grandmother to Adalaya and Joshua Nemitz and Raeleigh McKool. Sister to Lois Hurley, Ruby Bohn, Judy Thomas, Lena Sloan, Robert and Thomas Harr and Cindy Wright. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Freda was a cashier at former A & P Grocery Store and worked at former Miracle Mart. Member of AMC & BW Local 590 AFL-CIO, and auxiliary to former Hunter-Weaver Post 795, Scalp Level. She was an avid square dancer with Richland Mall Squares and All American Swingers. She enjoyed creating flower arrangements and making home crafts. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church, Richland. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Kirk Rowland, officiating.
