Calvin E. Vaneiken

Vaneiken, Calvin E., 81, Bedford, formerly of Windber.  Went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2015 at Windber Hospice.  Born Jan. 19, 1934 in Mine 40.  Son of Albert and Mildred (Naugle) Vaneiken.  Preceded in death by parents, son Duane A., and brother  Albert Jr.  Survived by loving wife of 62 years the former Bessie M. Seger and these children Joyce, wife of Ralph Hawkins, West Chester, PA;  Jeff, married to the former Wendy Sadler,  Elkton, MD;  and Susan, wife of Samuel Wilson, New London, PA.

Grandchildren Jennifer, wife of Chris Evans, PA,  Kristy, wife of  Elwood Gilger, Jeffrey Vaneiken, Jr. and fiancé Breigh Strazzella, and Stacy, wife of Ricky Baker all of Dele.  7 great-grandchildren.  Siblings Geraldine Fetzer, Virgina, wife of Roy Way,  Howard and wife Shirley, Barbara, wife of John Bahorik, and Beverly, wife of Thomas Voytko. Also numerous nieces and nephews.  Retired from GM local 435. Calvin was happiest when he was cutting grass, working in his garden, or helping others.  He was very much a gentleman.  The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.  Rev. David McGee officiating.  Interment Berkey Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Calvin.
