Charney, Arthur G., 84, Windber, passed away Jan. 26, 2018 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 1, 1933 in Windber. Son of George and Alma (Holestein) Charney. Preceded in death by parents, sons Artie Jr., and John Joseph, granddaughters Emily and Morgan, and brothers Richard and George. Survived by loving wife of 60 years Dorothy (Adams) and these children Debbie, wife of Tim Campbell, Denise, wife of Tom Badowski, Keith Charney and wife Jamie, Kevin Charney and wife Anne, and Deann, wife of Milt Baer. Grandchildren Allison, Connor, Hannah, Kevin, Danielle, Hattie, Kobe, Keith, Rylee, Emma and Sophia. Great-grandson Logan. Also sister Vera Miller and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, Polish Falcons Nest 97, Slovak Educational Club and the Argument Club. Art enjoyed woodworking, watching Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins and Steelers. He was an avid camper, fisherman and hunter. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 pm Monday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Windber. Fr. George Gulash, presider. Committal Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice in memory of Art.
