Andy Pribish

November 20, 1914 ~ May 22, 2015 (age 100) 100 Years Old


Andy Pribish, 100, went to be with his heavenly Father on May 22, 2015, and was reunited with his beloved wife Mary who died on December 20, 2007.  A resident of Richland Woods Assited Living Center, he and his wife were former residents of Central City; Harper's Woods, MI; Berlin and Windber.  Born November 20, 1914 in Windber son of  Andrew and Kathryn (Glovna) Pribish.  Also preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Ferry, brothers John (Herbie), Michael and Nick and nephew Deacon John Youhas.  Survived by sisters Ann Fedock, Lancaster, and Katherine Youhas, Beaver Falls; sister-in-law Helen Kott, Central City; special niece and caregiver Diana Romanchock, Windber, and 18 nieces and nephews.  Andy was a veteran of WW II, serving in Newfoundland.  He later moved to Harper Woods, MI and worked in fine mens' apparel shops and Sears.  Upon retirement he and Mary moved to Berlin and then to Windber to be near family and friends.  In February, 2014 at the age of 99 he became a resident of Richland Woods and enjoyed the companionship of his new friends.  He was a great Steelers and Pirates fan and enjoyed attending sporting events of his local high school teams.  He was an avid bowler all of his life and racked up some impressive scores.. The family would like to thank all those at Richland Woods and Windber Hospice for the wonderful care given to Uncle Andy.  Viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. where panachida will be held at 7:00.  A brief service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9 am. with Divine Liturgy at 10:00 at SS. Peter and Paul's Orthodox Church, 141 Hoffman Farm Road, Windber.  Celebrants Very Rev. Miles Zdinak, Pastor; Very Rev John Pribish, Andy's nephew and Very Rev. William Conjelko.  Entombment will follow at Grandview Mausoleum with military graveside rite by Windber VFW Ritual Team.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SS. Peter and Paul's Church or Windber Hospice.
